A brief note on the activities of the District Information Office, Bishnupur during  the year 2017-18. The District Information Office, Bishnupur which came into existence on 3/12/1990 as a branch office of the Information Public Relations, Government of Manipur has been functioning in the field of publicising the policies, programmes, activities and achievements of the Government through various means of mass communication at the district level. This office continues its best efforts to highlight and publicise the same. During the year 2017-18, the multicolour publication the “ Bishnupur Tiding” were brought out on the occasion of the Independence Day and Republic Day highlighting the developmental and welfare activities and achievements of the different departments taken up in the District.
This Office provides the coverage of the VIPs/VVIPs tour programmes, National and State functions including other important functions held by different departments in the District and issues its press note to the local press, AIR/DDK. Imphal and other News agencies through its Directorate Office. Besides, the press note send to this office by the different department are also released. During the year, 2017-18, altogether 53 press note were issued. At present, 3 staff are working in this office.
