BISHNUPUR MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

The Bishnupur Municipal Council is an urban local body. It was converted council from board under the Manipur Municipalities Act, 1994 (Act No. 43 of 1994) on 15th June, 1994. The spirit of the 74th. Constitutional Amendment Act is to develop the power and function listed in the 12th. Schedule of the Constitution to the urban local bodies. 

Details of the Schemes/Project taken up:-

NSDP : This scheme was started from the financial year 1997-98. state Government allotted a sum of Rs. 1.92 lacs to the council. Council implemented the scheme as construction of stream water drain from Ngaikhong I.V Road to Thabakhong river along the eastern side of the Tiddim road. A sum of Rs. 82,935 as 50% of the fund for the scheme year 1998-99 was also allotted to this council.
