DISTRICT YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS OFFICE |

The Department of Youth affairs and Sports has 11 (eleven) branch offices at the 9 (nine) districts including Kangpokpi and Jiribam. Execution of Programmes and Schemes are directed and supervised by the DYAS offices at the district level. |

| Apart from working normal duties like development of pay bills, encashment of sanctioned amount etc. the DYAS office has also organized Youth festivals, Programme for coaching in various sports activities, organization of Sports Meet, implementation of Scheme for physical Education and Youth welfare Services. This office also supervise the functioning of different youth centers at village level which was opened with a view to give opportunity and to provide a forum of all sections of youth for launching different youth services programmes. | ||
| SUPERINTENDENT :- To supervise and control the work of UDC, LDC and Grade IV and organization of sports meet and festivals of other programme related to sports activities. |

| COACHES :- Coaches play a great role while promoting the standard of sports activities. they give intensive coaching to the players for completion in school level, Inter district level and state and national level. They also conduct the tournament of their respective disciplines from the grassroots to the higher level. they also assist the organization of Departmental as well as many state level organization and even national sport meet. |

| P.E.T :- Physical Education Teacher is posted/utilised at schools under the control, of their Headmasters. Their nature of works are as follows :- | ||
a. Organisation of annual Sports in School. b. Taking of class in physical education and Health Education. c. Practical class for physical education. d. Conduct of School Assembly. e. Organisation of Intramural tournament of different discipline. f. Teaching of basic skills of different disciplines to the students. List of Works/ Projects for the Year 2000 – 2001 :- 1. District Level Subroto Mukherjee Football tournament (U- 14 Years). 2. District Level J.N. Hockey Tournament (U- 14 Years). 3. District Level U-14 Years football. 4. District Level Youth festival at Nambol public theatre hall. 5. Maintenance of Youth Centre . there are 15 youth centers and a sum of Rs. 200/- per month per Youth 6. Participated in the state level Subroto Mukherjee and J.N Hockey Tournament. |
